Adam, Eve, Cain
and Abel Story
from the Bible
Satan said to her, "You will not die by eating the fruit of that tree. God knows that when you eat that fruit your eyes will be opened and you will be like God. You will know good and evil."
Eve did not eat the fruit. But, she had listened to what Satan had said. The things that Satan had said stayed in her mind. She allowed herself to think about them. She saw that the fruit of the tree was beautiful, and that it looked delicious. She wanted the wisdom and Satan had promised her.
At last, the desire to eat the fruit became too great for her. She took the fruit and ate it. She gave some to her husband, Adam, who was with her, and persuaded him to eat the fruit also. After they had eaten the fruit, their eyes were opened. They became very ashamed. They knew that they had disobeyed God.
Then Adam and Eve heard the voice of God calling to them. They were very afraid and tried to hide themselves in the trees. God was angry that they had disobeyed him. Adam and Eve were punished. Now all the men and women would know what is like to feel pain, hunger and death.
He made them leave the garden. No more would everything be given to them. From now on they would have to work hard in order to live.
Shincheonji, Adam, Eve, Cain and Abel Story from the Bible |
Adam and Eve were forced to leave the garden, and they went out into the world. For a time they were all alone, but God finally gave them a little child of their own.
He was the first baby born in the world. Eve named him Cain. After a while, Eve had another son, whom she named Abel.
While Adam and Eve were living in the Garden of Eden, they could talk with God and hear God's voice speaking to them. But now that they were out in the world, they couldn't talk for a sin with God as freely as before.
So they built an altar from a pile of stones.
On this altar they will place their gifts to God. These gifts would be burned to show that they were not their own, but was given to God.
Adam and Eve would pray before the altar. They would ask God to forgive their sins, all the things which they had done wrong. They would also ask God to bless them and to do good things for them.
When Cain and Abel grew up, they worked before them.
Cain, the older brother, became a farmer. He worked in the fields, growing grain and fruits. Abel, the younger brother, had a flock of sheep. He became a shepherd.
When the two brothers, Cain and Abel, were old enough, they offered their gifts to God upon the altar. Cain would bring some of the fruits and grains that he had grown, and Abel would bring sheep from his flock that he had killed.
They would burn their gifts upon the altar.
Abel would always choose the best sheep from his flock to give to God, while Cain kept the best fruits and grains for himself.
Cain's heart was not right when he came before God. So God showed that he was not happy with Cain and his offering. But instead of being sorry for his sin and asking God to forgive him, he became very angry at God and toward his brother Abel.
Cain became more and more angry with the way "he saw" was treating his brother Able.
One day, when the two brothers were out in the field together, Cain struck and killed his brother. So Cain, the first baby born in the world, grew up to murder his own brother.
The Lord called out to Cain, "Where is Abel, your brother?"
Cain answered like this,,,
